In ‘shiracha,’ a dyed color popular in the Edo period, the curved dial has a smoky gradation and a richly textured pattern evoking silk fabric, accented by gold hands and markers, while capturing and reflecting ambient light to create a heightened sense of depth and beauty. Visible through the screwdown, see-through caseback, Seiko’s 6R caliber, 24-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with an exceptional power reserve of 72 hours, manual winding capability and a date calendar complication.
